"Pipeline"

This is a good example of working a painting to its full potential and knowing when to call it done. It’s easy to overwork a painting and I have done it many of times.
At times I felt stuck so I would take a deep breath and throw some wild color and contrast at the canvas and most of the time it gave me a new way to look at it. It’s comforting to know that I could always go back to where I started if the painting is not working. In theory we must take chances and trust our instincts. Otherwise a painting is not good or bad but just a picture.
I completed this 18”x36” oil painting on canvas is Titled “Pipeline” in March 2013. The time spent in my studio was well worth the investment. Watch the YouTube video.
